This is the very first Phoenix Project video: a 30 second burst recorded shortly after the house fire to show my makeshift workspace as a “before”. It is not much yet, but it is a space, and that felt like a big step.
A makeshift workspace after the fire
Everything I had built up in my old workshop was lost, so this was the start of setting up again from scratch. A few familiar faces are already back on the bench, as new versions of tools I used before. One of them, unlike its predecessor, does not have acetone splashed up the front (yet). I am a creature of habit if nothing else, so I went for what I knew.

The plan from here was simple: set up all the tools, then come back with a proper update once things were in place. The later Phoenix Project videos follow on from this, from a Q&A about the fire to going back into the house to salvage what I could.
