Mike Dailly, the man behind Lemmings, has sent me another box. Ever since I once dared to say I didn’t like Lemmings, he’s been using his position atop the Lemmings glory pile to “bully” me with parcels. Joking aside, thank you Mike: this one had a few genuinely useful things in it, alongside the inevitable trolling. This channel is supported by PCBWay.
Why it took so long to open
The box had been sitting here for quite a few months while I dealt with things in my personal life, and before that it spent a couple of months at RMC The Mill, which is why one item was loose (I think one was meant for The Mill and one for me). So it was a bit dusty. Last time Mike sent copies of Lemmings, two of them signed, so I had my suspicions.
Conductive filament
First out was a 1kg, 325m spool of conductive filament. I’ll admit I didn’t even know you could get it, but then you can get carbon fibre and glitter filament, so why not? It could be really useful for things like RF shielding. That one is a genuinely nice gift and I’d like to do something with it.

The Lemmings, obviously
Then came what I knew was coming: Lemmings, in several forms. Lemmings for the Acorn Archimedes, with the discs, which is quite serendipitous because I’d literally been looking at an Archimedes A3000 the day before and have one to work on soon. Then Lemmings for the PSP, and Lemmings for Windows with the original Lemmings and Oh No! More Lemmings. Neil from RMC The Cave jokes that a serious collector should try to collect the platforms Lemmings wasn’t on, because there are so few of them.

There were also an Arcade Archive sticker and a Cave Dweller sticker (which may have fallen in at The Mill), plus a vinyl-cut Lemming. That one is made extra redundant by the fact I have a vinyl cutter upstairs, which I’ve used for Atari and ColecoVision labels. Both are going on the tool chest.

Another Bob Ross gummy kit
In a previous box Mike sent an American Bob Ross gummy making kit, because I’d mentioned my wife likes Bob Ross. I got out of making it by saying (truthfully) that she wanted it kept as a collectible, and it’s on the shelf in pride of place. So, to knock that excuse out of the park, he sent another. The ingredients list doesn’t fill me with joy, and the bags feel sticky. I might make it for the patrons only, so it doesn’t wreck the channel numbers.
A Commodore 64 branded PC
The last item was more serious: a Commodore 64 branded web PC with a tiny touchpad and stylus, marked made in China, December 1998. It’s not normally my sort of thing, but the branding makes it interesting, and they fetch a fair price even in poor condition. This one has been a bit mutilated along the back edge and melted through on the bottom, so it goes on the pile of shame for now. If you’re interested in it, let me know in the YouTube comments.

Thank you Mike, and sorry it took so long. The conductive filament and Archimedes Lemmings really did land well; the gummy kit, less so.
