Tomlov sent me their DM601 HDMI digital microscope, so I put it to work inspecting a fire-damaged, ultrasonic-cleaned Amiga A600 board for lifted pads and leakage damage.
The Amiga A600 from my house fire tried to boot, but its board was coated in greasy soot. My first ultrasonic cleaning attempt, from mixing the solution to the results.
300 degrees, then two weeks in mouldy water. I plugged in the Amiga A600 board from my house fire expecting nothing, and it produced a picture.
After the fire, Ben Versteeg of ByteDelight sent a box of Spectrum goodies: a 128K toastrack, ZX-HD, DivMMC EnJOY Pro, ZX Diag and a Harlequin 128 kit.
A clean, boxed GX4000 and one pulled from my house fire after two weeks in firefighting water. Guess which one boots Burning Rubber.
