This is a short one from March 2020: a quick channel update recorded back in the man cave after a pretty grim start to the year. If you wondered why Mark Fixes Stuff went quiet around then, this is the explanation, and the good news is that I was back at the bench and editing again.
What happened to the man cave?
The house with the man cave flooded, and it wasn’t river water. It was sewage, and it came from upstairs: through the upstairs bathroom, down through the ceiling, down the walls, through the kitchen and across the kitchen floor. About as disgusting as it sounds.
Since the beginning of 2020 we’d been relocated into another house, and the insurance companies were saying it could take six to eight months to resolve. That’s a long time to be away from the workbench.

Back in the man cave
The sanitisation crew had been in, and I’d cleaned up enough to get back into the house and into the man cave. There were no floors and no working kitchen or bathroom (apart from a potty), but the room I needed was usable, so I could start turning out videos again. The plan was to ramp the output right back up over the following weeks.

What was coming next
First up from the edit was a build and review of the Mini Monster from monsterjoysticks.com for the PC Engine, a system I really love. I also asked whether you’d like occasional chatty updates like this one on the channel. I don’t want to upload things nobody watches, but no man is an island, and sometimes it’s nice to let you know what’s going on at MFS Towers.
